ABOUT

Next Stop Anywhere shares the voices and journeys of CUNY students by pairing in-depth profile films with bite-size social content. Produced under the Career Connected Learning (CCL) Club in collaboration with BMCC’s Open Educational Resources office, the series celebrates personal growth, career aspirations, and cultural impact.

OVERVIEW

Coordinating a remote production of this scale required more than filming; it meant orchestrating logistics, managing call sheets, supervising interview shoots, and handling transcripts so editors could keep pace. The challenge was to preserve a cohesive look across long-form episodes and vertical cut-downs even as a dispersed team collaborated from afar.

As producer and co-art director, I worked closely with the art director to shape the creative direction of the series while overseeing editing, motion design integration, and overall visual consistency. Editing the full-length episodes involved weaving together interview footage and collaborator animations while selecting music and sound effects that supported the emotional rhythm of each story.

By synchronising editorial, motion-graphics, and sound workflows, the project scaled gracefully across multiple stories, delivering a consistent narrative voice and aesthetic. The result is a multi-format series that captures real student stories and strengthens BMCC’s OER mission with every episode.

VISUAL IDENTITY BREAKDOWN

The visual identity was designed to balance editorial clarity with cinematic storytelling. The branding system combines bold typography, clean layouts, and adaptable motion graphics to create a recognizable look across YouTube content, social media cut-downs, captions, title cards, and end credits. Colors and graphic treatments were intentionally developed to align with BMCC and OER branding standards while maintaining a modern, student-centered aesthetic adaptable across multiple media formats.

BEHIND THE INTERVIEWS

The production phase included a full interview shooting day focused on three BMCC student profiles featuring Nashiem, Jérôme aka “Joffy”, and Gaby. As part of the production team, I helped coordinate the set, supervise interview flow, and maintain visual consistency across each profile. Working directly with the students during filming helped ground the series in a more authentic and human approach to storytelling while reinforcing the documentary tone of the project.
